Countryside

Although many people have the impression Japan is nothing but city, there is beautiful countryside in Japan; especially on the northern island of Hokkaido.

Hokkaido

is Japan's northern main island. Even though it has cities and mountains, compared to the rest of Japan this is like the Great Plains. It produces much of the Japan's crop and is known for its Dairy Products. The farms are much larger here compared to the rest of Japan.

is much more mountainous and developed. Farms are often nestled in narrow mountain valleys alongside country towns confined to small spaces by the steep slopes.
